Shanghai Sewage Treatment Plant is the largest underground sewage treatment plant in Asia, with a treatment capacity of 400,000 m3/d. Sewage treatment adopts the combined process of AAO raw reaction tank + high-efficiency sedimentation tank + denitrification deep bed filter, which has the function of denitrification and phosphorus removal, and the effluent reaches level A of the “Pollutant Discharge Standard for Urban Sewage Treatment Plants” (GB 18918-2002). The standard discharge is to Sagasama. Sludge treatment adopts low-temperature vacuum dehydration and drying
process, which has reached the international advanced level.

Industrial Wastewater Monitoring and Early Warning

The sewage treatment plant has a daily wastewater treatment capacity of 80,000 tons, mainly dealing with industrial wastewater in this industrial zone, involving petrochemical, chemical, and other industries.

This project mainly monitors the water inlet and outlet of the treatment process of the sewage treatment plant, including four points: comprehensive water inlet, salty water inlet, sea discharge water, and salty water outlet.

Water inflow monitoring can effectively supervise the wastewater discharge of upstream enterprises and prevent the sneaky discharge of high-concentration wastewater into the sewage treatment system.

The effluent monitoring can monitor the quality of the effluent treated by the system and prevent the discharge of the effluent exceeding the standard.

This project uses the OWS-DW Dual-wavelength water quality sensor and an OWS-FS full-spectrum water quality sensor for water quality monitoring. Monitoring parameters include COD, TUR, and nitrate.

Ulik cloud platform can provide customers with data early warning function, and send water quality information to operation and maintenance personnel via SMS or email. It can effectively warn upstream enterprises to discharge excessive water quality. The sewage treatment plant can discharge inspectors to conduct on-site sampling, and impose fines on upstream enterprises.

The early warning function of the Ulik cloud platform greatly improves the quality and efficiency of inspections and effectively ensures that the water quality entering the sewage treatment system is within the treatable range. The cloud platform has accumulated more than 50 warnings for customers.

Sewage Monitoring and Early Warning for Pumping Station

This pumping station is the front pumping station of a sewage treatment plant, which transports the urban sewage from the pipeline to the sewage treatment plant for treatment. In the early stage, the water quality of the pipe network was not monitored, and the concentration of water delivered to the sewage treatment plant fluctuated greatly, which had a great impact on the sewage treatment plant. After installing the water quality monitoring equipment, online real-time monitoring of water quality can be performed, the water quality delivered to the sewage treatment plant can be known in advance, and operations such as dilution of high-concentration sewage before the sewage enters the sewage treatment plant process, so as to reduce the impact on the sewage treatment process.

The OWS-FS full-spectrum sensor has been running for more than 6 months, the data is uploaded to the cloud platform normally, and provides customers with multiple data early warning functions.

The Ulik cloud platform can provide customers with data early warning functions. The system has provided customers with more than 60 early warnings, effectively avoiding the impact of high-concentration water on the sewage treatment process.

The OWS-FS full spectrum adopts an in-situ optical real-time online monitoring method, which does not consume reagents and does not consume reagents, real-time monitoring, and has low operation and maintenance costs. The pump station has only been cleaned and maintained once for the full spectrum sensor during its 6 months of operation.
